This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vice President of Business Development based in the United States.
This is a senior leadership opportunity focused on building and scaling strategic business opportunities across commercial and government markets.
You’ll lead partnership development across cloud service providers, technology alliances, resellers, and other strategic channels.
The role combines executive relationship management, enterprise business development, channel strategy, and revenue growth.
You’ll help expand market reach by identifying high-value opportunities and building partnerships that create sustainable commercial impact.
You’ll work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, and executive leadership to shape go-to-market strategies and customer engagement plans.
As a hands-on leader, you’ll establish processes and structure for a growing business development function while directly influencing pipeline and growth.
The position is ideal for an entrepreneurial cybersecurity leader with a strong industry network and a track record of measurable results.
- Develop and execute the business development and partnership strategy across commercial and government accounts, cloud service providers, strategic technology alliances, and reseller ecosystems.
- Support strategic enterprise account engagement by identifying opportunities, establishing executive relationships, and advancing complex sales and partnership motions.
- Identify, recruit, develop, and expand relationships with high-value partners capable of increasing market access, accelerating pipeline, and generating long-term revenue.
- Build trusted relationships with CTOs, CISOs, senior technical leaders, business executives, and other decision-makers within target customer and partner organizations.
- Represent the organization effectively in executive and partner discussions by articulating cybersecurity market dynamics, customer needs, and differentiated value propositions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Marketing, and executive stakeholders to develop partner programs, go-to-market strategies, joint engagement plans, and compelling value propositions.
- Enable resellers and channel partners to effectively position cybersecurity offerings, identify target accounts, and execute joint business development initiatives.
- Translate market intelligence, partner feedback, and customer requirements into actionable recommendations that improve commercial strategy and execution.
- Build the structure, processes, reporting, and operating rhythm for the business development function from the ground up.
- Own and develop the opportunity pipeline while driving measurable outcomes across partner-sourced opportunities, channel expansion, strategic accounts, and enterprise engagement.
- Monitor cybersecurity trends, competitive activity, buyer priorities, and changes across cloud ecosystems to inform partnership and growth strategies.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing Business Development team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
- Balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment where priorities and opportunities can evolve quickly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Marketing, or a related field; additional relevant experience or an equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and professional experience may be considered.
- 8–10+ years of demonstrated experience in business development, strategic partnerships, channel sales, or alliance management within cybersecurity, cloud, or enterprise technology.
- 5+ years of experience leading, managing, coaching, and mentoring individuals or teams.
- Proven success developing and expanding relationships with cloud service providers, resellers, distributors, strategic technology partners, or other enterprise channels.
- Experience working with large enterprise accounts and navigating complex stakeholder environments, lengthy sales cycles, and sophisticated buying processes.
- An established network across the cybersecurity and cloud ecosystem, with the ability to establish credibility and open doors with relevant customers and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior executives, including CTOs, CISOs, and other technical and business decision-makers.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity markets, enterprise cyber-risk challenges, buyer priorities, and evolving industry dynamics.
- Strong ability to connect customer and partner needs to compelling, commercially effective solutions and value propositions.
- Entrepreneurial, builder-oriented mindset with the ability to create strategies, processes, partnerships, and operating structures from the ground up.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, executive presence, relationship management, and influencing skills.
- Strong commercial and strategic judgment, with a results-oriented approach and a history of achieving growth, partnership, pipeline, or revenue objectives.
- Ability to work with significant autonomy while collaborating effectively across Sales, Product, Marketing, and Executive leadership.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Preferred: experience launching a new business development, partnerships, or channel function within a growing organization.
- Preferred: familiarity with reseller enablement, partner program development, co-sell strategies, cloud marketplaces, and security-focused technology ecosystems.
- Preferred: knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, industry trends, and enterprise procurement and buying processes.
- Base salary range of $170,400–$306,700 USD, with compensation determined by factors including education, experience, skills, and other relevant considerations.
