Senior Manager, ERP Applications

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, ERP Applications based in Canada.

This role leads the strategic administration, implementation, optimization, and support of a global ERP platform across multiple manufacturing businesses.
You will serve as the primary subject matter expert, translating business needs into scalable and effective ERP solutions.
The position combines hands-on technical expertise with functional leadership across manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, production, and related operations.
You will lead full lifecycle implementations while managing projects, vendors, integrations, system enhancements, and post-go-live support.
The role also focuses on continuous process improvement, data integrity, reporting, and operational efficiency across the ERP environment.
As a senior technology leader, you will mentor support personnel and build strong relationships with business leaders, end users, vendors, and technical teams.

Accountabilities
  • Serve as the primary owner and subject matter expert for the Global Shop ERP platform supporting multiple manufacturing businesses.
  • Lead full lifecycle ERP implementations, including planning, requirements gathering, configuration, testing, user acceptance, training, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation support.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, risks, issues, communications, and delivery activities to ensure successful implementations.
  • Configure and maintain ERP modules supporting manufacturing, inventory, purchasing, production scheduling, engineering, and other business functions.
  • Troubleshoot complex application issues, system defects, integration failures, and data inconsistencies.
  • Develop and maintain PSQL queries, operational reports, dashboards, and data extracts to support business reporting and decision-making.
  • Partner with internal IT teams and third-party providers to support integrations between the ERP platform and other enterprise applications.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to evaluate processes and recommend ERP solutions that improve efficiency, standardization, and data integrity.
  • Coordinate software upgrades, patches, enhancements, testing, and deployment activities with vendors and implementation partners.
  • Develop and maintain ERP configurations, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Provide application support to users across multiple business locations and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Train end users and business process owners on ERP functionality, processes, and best practices.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors and implementation consultants, including escalations, enhancement requests, and issue resolution.
  • Supervise and mentor ERP support personnel while establishing sustainable application support standards and processes.
  • Support business acquisitions, ERP expansion initiatives, and other technology projects as required.
  • Travel approximately 10–20% to manufacturing locations for implementations, training, and operational support.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline strongly preferred.
  • 7–10 years of experience supporting enterprise ERP systems, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Global Shop ERP is required.
  • Proven experience leading multiple full lifecycle ERP implementations from planning through post-go-live support.
  • Advanced functional and technical knowledge of Global Shop and manufacturing ERP environments.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, including production, inventory, purchasing, warehouse management, and shop floor processes.
  • Advanced experience writing and troubleshooting PSQL queries, as well as developing operational reports and data extracts.
  • Experience troubleshooting ERP integrations and coordinating with integration partners.
  • Strong understanding of ERP security, user administration, system configuration, and application support.
  • Experience managing software vendors, implementation partners, and third-party consultants.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ability to build productive relationships across business and technical teams.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives, business leaders, vendors, and end users.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
