Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or a related Science or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibilityrequirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S.citizenship is required.



Responsibilities for this Position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in system security design effort and security requirements analysis.
  • Work with Development and Test teams to plan, implement, and support verification of security requirements.
  • Perform security hardening of systems and components based on current mission.
  • Execute security testing and evaluation using DISA's STIG/SRG checklists to ensure the correct implementation of security requirements (ex. Scanning with tools for static and dynamic code analysis and Nessus. Penetration Testing).
  • Generate documentation to detail security configuration, assessment findings, and mitigations and communicate information to the engineering team and customer.
  • Build the RMF body of evidence for security requirements including items such as system risk assessments and mitigation reports, security plans (SP), security testing plans and procedures, Security Control Traceability Matrices (SCTM), and System Impact Analyses.
  • Participate in Assessment and Authorization (A&A) or Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activities.
  • Contribute to the completion of major programs and projects with the execution of the system security activities.
  • Plan and execute project tasks for system security activities.
  • Assess and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program life cycle.
  • Choose appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools for security engineering products.
  • Research and analyze data from various sources to determine security of design.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience with the development of embedded systems for avionics applications and software code development.
  • Experience with command-line interfaces to include Linux and PowerShell.
  • Scripting familiarity with Python, bash, and PowerShell.
  • Identify opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Fully proficient understanding of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Fully proficient proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with cyber security requirements such as Risk Management Framework (RMF) NIST 800-53 security controls, STIGs, and other government security specifications and guidelines.
  • Fully proficient knowledge of cyber security technology and trends.
  • Fully proficient understanding of verification and validation processes.
  • Ability to clearly recognize and report relevant system security concerns and issues.
  • Fully proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work with project leaders and other professionals within the Engineering department and with project teams.
  • CISSP certification is a plus or must be able to get CISSP certified within 6 months of hire.

Combined Salary Range

USD $112,924.00 - USD $125,275.00 /Yr.
