Peer Support Recovery Specialist

At DeCoach Recovery, we believe some of the most powerful support comes from people who've walked this path themselves. We're looking for a Peer Support Recovery Specialist who understands recovery firsthand and wants to use that experience to help others find their way forward.

This role offers the chance to work directly with clients at a pivotal point in their journey — not from behind a desk, but alongside them.

What You'll Do:

• Walk Alongside Clients – Provide direct peer support services under clinical supervision, helping adults in treatment stay connected, motivated, and engaged in their recovery.
• Support the Full Treatment Plan – Help coordinate and support services outlined in each client's Individual Treatment Plan, including individual, family, and group counseling, community activities, vocational training, and follow-up care.
• Be a Steady Presence – Travel between facility locations as needed to meet clients where they are, including facility visits and community-based support.
• Bring Your Expertise – Apply your knowledge of substance use recovery, documentation standards, and current peer support best practices to every client interaction.
• Help Us Improve – Work with program managers to evaluate and strengthen our services, bringing a peer perspective to how we grow and improve.
• Follow the Standards – Stay current on DeCoach's policies and procedures, ensuring quality and consistency in every client interaction.

What You Bring:

• Active Peer Support Specialist certification (required)
• An active Ohio driver's license with a clean driving record — this role includes travel between locations and into the community, so reliable, safe transportation is essential
• Strong peer support skills and genuine comfort connecting with people in early recovery
• Lived experience with substance use recovery is highly valued in this role
