Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: HS Diploma or Equivalency
Skill(s): Attention to detail; proven ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot specialized blasting equipment; ability to recognize different levels of blast quality; proficient in using blasting units and ability to operate tools/equipment and physical stamina to perform demanding tasks in challenging environment for a 10-hour shift.
Experience: Prior blast experience is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions: Ability to walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach and stand for prolonged periods of time; push, pull and lift items up to 40lbs; exposure to excessive noise, dust and fumes; operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment and work at elevated heights or in confined spaces.
General Responsibilities
The Blaster is responsible for blasting interior and exterior coating to manufacturing specifications and Curry quality standards.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the company’s drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements. Individuals in this role are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, consistent with applicable law and company policy. Violations of these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
Essential Duties
- Grease bearings to keep from breaking.
- Operate paint blasting equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove old paint, rust or corrosion using abrasive or chemical techniques safely.
- Document work performed, including materials used and equipment services.
- Willing to perform other tasks in the shop as needed.
- Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
- Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the workplace.
- Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
- Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
Mon-Thurs 4 10 hour days
