Job Description

Airtable Operations Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Airtable Operations Manager based in the United States.

This role sits at the center of business operations and tooling within a fast-moving global technology environment, where Airtable serves as a critical system powering supply acquisition, vetting, and operational optimization. You will own and scale a large ecosystem of Airtable bases, ensuring they are architected for performance, reliability, and usability across multiple teams. Acting as both builder and advisor, you will translate business needs into scalable data and workflow solutions while guiding decisions on when systems should evolve beyond Airtable into more robust internal platforms. The environment is highly dynamic, with shifting priorities and strong cross-functional collaboration across product, engineering, and operations. This position requires a blend of deep technical Airtable expertise, systems thinking, and hands-on execution. Your work will directly shape how operational tooling evolves and scales across the organization.

Accountabilities:

You will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing a large-scale Airtable ecosystem that supports core business operations, while ensuring scalability, data integrity, and cross-functional usability. This includes:

  • Partnering with stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Airtable solutions
  • Designing and building advanced Airtable architectures, including interfaces, schemas, automations, and reporting layers
  • Managing and optimizing a large portfolio of Airtable bases (45–50), including troubleshooting data issues and improving performance
  • Building automations and integrations using low-code/no-code tools such as n8n, Tray.ai, Workato, or similar platforms
  • Developing scripts and lightweight code solutions (JavaScript, Node.js, or Python) to extend Airtable functionality and support complex workflows
  • Managing full project lifecycles, from requirements gathering through deployment, testing, and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Advising on system architecture decisions, including when workflows should be migrated from Airtable into internal or enterprise systems
  • Supporting technical debt reduction, prototype evaluation, and scaling decisions for experimental use cases
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly technical operations or systems expert with deep Airtable experience, strong architectural thinking, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

  • 6+ years of experience in technology, operations, consulting, or systems-focused roles
  • Expert-level Airtable knowledge, including schema design, automations, scripting, interfaces, and data synchronization
  • Proven ability to reverse-engineer and optimize large, complex, or undocumented Airtable bases
  • Strong systems architecture mindset with the ability to determine when Airtable is appropriate versus more scalable platforms (data warehouse, CRM, etc.)
  • Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript or Node.js (Python acceptable)
  • Strong SQL proficiency and comfort working with structured data
  • Experience integrating and automating workflows using tools such as n8n, Tray.ai, Workato, or similar platforms
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional technical projects from discovery through delivery
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • High autonomy and ability to thrive in fast-changing, loosely structured environments
  • Bonus: experience with Salesforce, Retool, Airtable AI, or CRM/ops-heavy environments
Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly compensation of $70–$80/hour (W2)
  • Fully remote role within the United States
  • 9-month contract with strong potential for extension
  • Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) with PST working hours
  • Opportunity to own and scale a critical operational tooling ecosystem
  • High-impact role with direct influence on system architecture and business operations
  • Exposure to advanced automation, AI-enabled workflows, and modern ops tooling
  • Collaborative, cross-functional environment working closely with product and engineering teams
