Job Description
General Purpose:
The Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and developing the nursery through kindergarten environments of Calvary Kids. This role plays a critical part in helping create a safe, engaging, and Gospel-centered setting where young children can begin building a foundation of faith while parents are equipped and supported in discipleship at home.
Essential Job Functions:
- Assist the Director of Kids Ministry in planning and running early childhood programs and events
- Recruit, train, schedule, and develop ministry partners serving in classrooms
- Ensure classrooms are safe, clean, and well-organized, following child protection and check-in/check-out policies
- Review and prepare age-appropriate, biblically based curriculum and classroom materials for activities
- Partner and provide ongoing communication with families about schedules, events, and program updates
- Assist with planning and execution of special events, including VBS, Family Experiences, Camp and holiday events
- Maintain classroom organization, safety standards, and supply inventory
- Attend staff meetings and ministry planning meetings
- Collaborate and partner with other ministry departments to support ministry initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Fully supports Calvary PSL’s statement of faith, mission, vision, and core values
- Mature follower of Jesus Christ with a heart and passion for children and families
- Experience in early childhood education, childcare, or ministry settings
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relational skills
- Ability to recruit, train, lead, and support ministry partners
- Ability to maintain a safe and secure ministry environment
- Knowledge of child safety practices and age-appropriate curriculum
- Ability to work weekends and flexible ministry hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- College 2-year degree preferred, but not required
- Experience leading volunteer teams
- Experience with Planning Center and church management systems
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Strong administrative and event planning skills

- This is a full-time (40 hours/week) non-exempt position.
- This role requires presence during weekend services, family ministry programs, office hours, and special events.
