Cardiac Care Technician in Syracuse, New York at Crouse Hospital

The Adult Cath Lab Department is currently hiring a Cardiac Care Technician. The cardiac care tech provides essential operational support to the EP and Cath lab teams to ensure efficient patient care and workflow. This role is responsible for performing EKGs, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with patient transport throughout the hospital, including pre-procedure preparation and post-procedure discharge. The technician proactively supports patient needs by responding to call lights, assisting with patient rounds, and maintaining a safe and supportive care environment. Additional responsibilities include assisting with procedure room turnover, maintaining supply inventory and par levels, and collaborating closely with nursing staff to support high-quality, safe, and efficient cardiac procedural care.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, rotating holidays

Pay: $19.38 - $29.90 / hour

Responsibilities:

• Accurately performs electrocardiograms.
• Accurately obtains patient vitals in a timely fashion.
• Assists in bringing patients to the pre-procedural area/admitting/post-procedure discharge as well as aiding in transport of patients within the hospital.
• Proactively anticipates patient’s needs by answering call lights/making rounds in an appropriate manner.
• Assist in turning over procedure rooms in a timely manner to maintain efficient workflow.
• Become familiar with supplies, their par levels, and assist in keeping supply areas adequately stocked.
• Work in conjunction with EP/Cath lab nurses to facilitate the needs of the department to ensure safe patient care.

Job Requirements

• Required:
  • Successful completion of a cardiac monitoring technician certificate program, or possess recent on-the-job arrhythmia training.
  • Must have BLS certification at the time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
