Cardiac Care Technician in Syracuse, New York at Crouse Hospital

The Heart Cath Lab Department is currently hiring a Cardiac Care Technician. The Cardiac Care Tech analyzes and monitors patients' heart rates and blood pressure during cardiovascular testing and informs department leadership of any abnormal changes. In addition, the Cardiac Care Technician ensures all equipment is operational and ready for use.

Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, rotating holidays

Pay: $19.38 - $29.90 / hour

Responsibilities:

• Accurately performs electrocardiograms and interprets cardiac rhythms.
• Accurately obtains patient vitals in a timely fashion.
• Maintains continued observation of patients and informs department leadership of any abnormal changes in condition or behavior of patients.
• Proactively anticipates patient's needs by answering call lights/making rounds and responding in an appropriate manner.
• Ensures all equipment is operational and functioning correctly. Advises department leadership promptly if equipment is not working properly.
• Accurately documents patient care provided in the patient's medical record. Assumes other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Job requirements:

• Required:
  • Successful completion of a cardiac monitoring technician certificate program, or possess recent on-the-job arrhythmia training.
  • Must have BLS certification at the time of hire or within 2 weeks after hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
