The Senior Software Engineer II will lead the development of scalable, reliable, and customer-focused software solutions while contributing technical expertise across the product lifecycle. This role requires strong ownership, collaboration, and the ability to guide engineering teams through complex initiatives.
- Build, design, and deliver end-to-end product features that create measurable value for customers.
- Lead application architecture decisions and contribute to scalable technical solutions.
- Write clear technical design documentation and help establish engineering standards.
- Develop and maintain backend APIs using Node.js and related technologies.
- Build and enhance modern frontend applications using frameworks such as React, Vue, or Ember.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following software engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex software issues efficiently.
- Mentor and support fellow engineers through technical guidance and knowledge sharing.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design teams throughout an Agile software development lifecycle.
- Advocate for customer-focused solutions and contribute to continuous product improvement.
The ideal candidate is an experienced full-stack engineer with strong SaaS development expertise, technical leadership capabilities, and a passion for building high-quality software products.
- 8+ years of experience developing web-based enterprise SaaS applications.
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives and guiding high-quality delivery across multiple developers.
- Strong proficiency with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Vue, or Ember.
- Experience designing and building REST/JSON APIs using technologies such as Swagger or OpenAPI specifications.
- Strong understanding of software testing practices and development of reliable applications.
- Experience with JavaScript, Node.js, React, Python, Docker, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
- Ability to independently analyze and solve complex technical challenges.
- Experience with modern JavaScript standards such as ES6 or TypeScript.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Product-oriented mindset with a focus on customer outcomes.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
- Motivation to continuously learn, improve, and explore new technologies.
- Preferred experience with SaaS applications, containerization tools, and cloud-native development practices.
- Competitive compensation package ranging from CA$164,000 to CA$225,500, with bonus eligibility.
