Pay: $18.00–$19.00 per hour (based on experience)
Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat (HCRR), LLC is an evidence-based, client-centered residential treatment program providing compassionate care and therapeutic support to adolescent clients with a variety of behavioral health needs.

We are seeking a Full-Time Cook who thrives in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment and understands the important role nutrition and consistency play in supporting client wellness.
Position OverviewThe Cook is a vital member of the Hidden Creek Recovery & Retreat System of Care. Under the supervision of the Head Chef, the Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for residential clients while maintaining compliance with dietary guidelines, food safety standards, and state health regulations.
The Cook will ensure meals are prepared and served on schedule, assist with menu planning, maintain kitchen operations, and support a safe and organized food service environment.
Essential ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Meal Service- Prepare and cook meals for residential clients following approved menus, nutritional guidelines, and dietary requirements.
- Accommodate client-specific dietary restrictions, allergies, and meal modifications.
- Utilize batch scratch cooking techniques to provide fresh, quality meals.
- Ensure breakfast items and daily meal components are prepared, stocked, and available as scheduled.
- Follow portion sizes and nutrition requirements established by facility guidelines.
- Create, update, and post client menus as needed.
- Coordinate with the Head Chef and treatment team to support client needs related to meals and nutrition.
- Follow all Board of Health requirements and State of Georgia food safety guidelines.
- Obtain and maintain Certified Food Handler certification.
- Ensure all menus are reviewed and approved by the facility dietitian.
- Monitor and document food temperatures according to safety requirements.
- Monitor and document refrigerator and freezer temperatures.
- Maintain proper time and temperature controls during food preparation and storage.
- Ensure refrigerators, freezers, dry storage areas, and kitchen equipment remain clean, organized, and free of expired products.
- Maintain proper inventory rotation and secure food supplies in designated storage areas.
- Complete daily cleaning and sanitation of kitchen areas, appliances, and equipment.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethics when interacting with clients.
- Report maintenance concerns, faulty equipment, safety issues, or accidents immediately.
- Follow all facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, including wearing slip-resistant, closed-toe shoes while working.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, nutrition, and dietary practices.
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and food waste control.
- Knowledge of proper food preparation and storage temperatures.
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to prepare meals efficiently while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of culinary or food service experience preferred.
- Certified Food Handler certification preferred (required within applicable timeframe if not already obtained).
- Experience working in healthcare, residential, hospitality, or commercial food service settings preferred.
