Position: Host or Hostess

Position Summary: The Host/Hostess responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas.

Reports To: Dining and Bar Manager, Outlets Manager, Events & Dining Supervisor

Supervises (Direct): not applicable

Supervises (Indirect): not applicable

Status: Part time and Seasonal, Non-Exempt

Job Tasks (Duties):
1. Greet members and guests.
2. Escort members and guests to dining or bar area.
3. Take reservations, manage reservations.
4. Manage wait list as applicable.
5. Communicate wait times to guests
6. Manage seating charts.
7. Seat guests.
8. Ensure area is clean.
9. Handle to-go orders.
10. Advise supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
11. Consistently follows all safety and/or food safety-related requirements.
12. Complete other appropriate assignments made by manager on duty.
13. Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the manager on duty and/or AGM.
14. Perform other tasks and duties that may arise.

Knowledge, Skill, Ability Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Previous restaurant or club experience preferred.
• Solid organizational and people skills to make sure our members and guests have a positive dining experience from the moment they arrive till their departure.
• Able to be pleasant and welcoming at all times.
• Excellent communication skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
• Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach, walk, stand, stoop, climb stairs, balance and/or crouch. Continuous repetitive motions.
• Physical exertion over long periods of time
• May work in hot and humid environment.
• Push, pull and lift 50 pounds.
• Able to work in a busy, noisy environment.
• Able to tolerate exposure to cleaning agents.
• Able to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment, which is typical of this position.
• Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping.
• Continuous standing and walking, must be able to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time.
