PSYCHIATRIST in Hattiesburg, Mississippi at Forrest General Hospital

Performs and/or oversees admission and concurrent review of all federally funded and other focused patient groups. Ensures that quality assurance monitoring and evaluation systems are implemented and ongoing throughout the hospital and are in compliance with regulatory standards. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed. Demonstrates knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with the patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs.

• Demonstrates ability to work with an interdisciplinary team to achieve the best outcome for assigned patients.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills related to evidence based practice in the specialty of psychiatry.
• Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and organizational leadership.
• Maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

Education/Skills :::
Graduate of a medical school approved by American Medical Association required.

Work Experience:
Experience in psychiatry preferred. Required to have no pending malpractice suits.

Certification/Licensure:
Current license to practice medicine in the State of Mississippi required. Member of the Forrest General Hospital's active medical staff with privileges to practice required. Board eligible in psychiatry required. Must have malpractice insurance for patient care activities.
