Shipping Specialist - 1st Shift in Richmond Heights, Ohio at Merit Brass Company

MERIT BRASS is currently hiring for 2nd Shift Shipping Specialists. We are a family owned and operated business for over 80 years! We offer competitive wages, 2nd Shift Premiums, and excellent benefits! Starting at $16.00 per hour. All new hires are eligible for a $200.00 signing bonus.

Work Hours:

• Monday -Friday
• 1st Shift- 7:00am - 3:30pm

Responsibilities

• Process and package customer orders per written procedures / work instructions for UPS and Truck orders.
• Accurately pick product using RF scanning equipment.
• To assist in all activities that support shipping functions, on time delivery of product and customer (internal and external) satisfaction.
• Record information for shipping & receiving into data collection.
• Process the required amount of daily orders / jobs, in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and older.
• No High School Diploma or GED Required.
• Ability to do basic high school reading, writing, and mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must be able to stand, reach, bend, push and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs. frequently
• Must be able to operate all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) (including but not limited to pallet jacks, stand up tow motors, cherry pickers, WAVE machines, Booms, etc.) by adhering to Merit’s safety procedures/processes
• Ability to learn basic computer functions, bar code scanning, and operation of material handling equipment
• Basic computer skills, i.e., operation, inquiry, and alphanumeric entry via keyboard and/or bar code scanning
