The ROCK Community Center for Youth & Children exists to champion the development of healthy, whole, and resilient youth and children in the Arlington Woods community and beyond by providing safe, accessible, high-quality, holistic programs and wrap-around full support services.

YOUR ROLE IN OUR MISSION

As a Program Influencer, you are more than a facilitator. You are a positive force of influence, guiding and inspiring youth to realize their potential and make impactful choices. This role is about shaping lives through encouragement, leadership, and authentic connection. You will serve as a role model, demonstrating integrity, resilience, and faith, while fostering a safe space where youth can grow and thrive.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Matthew 5:14-16


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Record and manage student attendance accurately and consistently.
  • Lead program sessions and activities as designated by the Program Director, ensuring engaging and meaningful experiences.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with program goals, fostering positive social and emotional development.
  • Facilitate instruction, encouraging participation, respect, and leadership among youth.
  • Chaperone field trips and special events, ensuring safety and active engagement.
  • Attend community dinners and events to promote community involvement and relationship building.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating Christ’s love and influence through your words and actions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the facility, encouraging youth involvement.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive environment that upholds RCCYC policies and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Strong ability to relate positively to youth, parents, and community partners.

· Effective communication skills and a passion for mentorship.

· Ability to organize, lead, and supervise youth activities responsibly.

· Enthusiasm, energy, and a genuine desire to influence and inspire young lives.

· High school diploma or GED; prior youth work experience preferred.

· Willingness to undergo training in mental health, safety, and emergency procedures.

•Must be able to lift to 50 pounds.

• Must be able to observe an area that can be seen up or down or to the left or right while eyes are fixed on a given point.

• Flexibility to work part-time (average 25 hours/week), with additional hours during peak seasons or special events.

Requirements:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Ability to relate to the general public, parents, and participants in a friendly, positive, and professional manner

• Ability to convey RCCYC policies and procedures to participants and implement appropriate guidance and discipline policies

• Ability to organize and supervise participants to maintain a safe and welcoming environment

• Strong verbal communication skills

• Demonstrate enthusiasm, energy, and commitment in close contact with participants, parents, volunteers, staff, and the general public EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school graduate or GED required

• Prior and proven work experience working with youth preferred

• Training or the willingness and ability to be trained on Mental Health First Aid Training for Youth and Adults, First Aid, CPR, and safe food handling
