As a member of our culinary team, you will assist Chefs and Sous Chefs in preparing high-quality entrées, maintaining proper portion sizes, and ensuring food is safely stored and prepared to club standards.
Key Responsibilities:Assist in preparing ingredients, including washing, peeling, cutting, and marinatingPrepare soups, salads, and sauces as directedPlate and garnish meals following Chef or Sous Chef instructionsComplete assigned prep and cooking tasks efficiently and on timeStock cooking stations with necessary ingredients and toolsClean and sanitize kitchen surfaces and equipment before and after shiftsFollow proper food rotation practices to minimize waste and contaminationInspect incoming food supplies for quality and freshnessRequirements:Must be 18 years of age or olderMinimum 2 years of culinary experience requiredStrong knowledge of food safety and cooking techniquesAbility to work in a hot, humid, fast-paced kitchen environmentPhysically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive motionsMay be required to speak publicly during team meetings or eventsAssociate’s degree in culinary arts preferredLafayette Club is an equal opportunity employer.
