Seda North America would like to meet you! Seda is a growing business seeking a Purchasing Agent to join our team! As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible to purchase materials and services for Seda, maintain accurate records of purchases, manage purchase orders, and track invoices to ensure proper accounting and compliance with company policies, in addition to managing inventory, and ensuring cost effective procurement processes are being followed. Your work will directly impact the productivity and efficiency of our operations, making you a key member of our team. Seda will not provide sponsorship. This position is fully on-site.

Specific Duties:
- Review MRP, (material requirement planning) and track necessary purchase orders and blanket material releases for items assigned.
- Obtains required documentation of any material as specified by the quality control department (certificate of analysis, packing list, MSDS, etc.)
- Calculates and coordinates packaging / label requirement to ensure a smooth production run of the finished good
- Works together with various internal departments including Quality Control, Sourcing, R&D, Graphics and partners with the procurement department to resolve any manufacturing process issues related to purchasing/raw materials
- Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate, timely supplier payment – PPV (Purchase price variance)
- Partner with parts department on MRO material
- Negotiation of PO’s
- Coordinates delivery and confirms with vendor that all materials are consistent with the specification and meeting delivery date.
- Control the opening and closing of manufacturing jobs and the flow of materials from suppliers
- Attend production meetings to share and receive necessary information
- Process and track supplier material returns for credit
- Produce reports as required i.e. open order status report
- Collaborate cross-functionally, cross-company for timely, comprehensive adherence to internally agreed sourcing processes and procedures.
- Create and recommend internal process efficiencies in total sourcing & procurement workflow.

Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field with 2+ years in Manufacturing preferred. food or foodservice packaging experience is a plus
- A professional understanding of all aspects of procurement activity and its contribution to the business efficiencies and long-term reliable supply base.
- Experience with negotiations and project management
- Ability to analyze data and make cost – effective decisions
- Able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems and resolve issues quickly
- Experience with systems like SAP or other ERP systems is a plus
- Contract and compliance knowledge a plus
- Experience in developing and implementing plans to provide effectiveness / efficiencies
- Possess an understanding of the support role to the Food Safety Management System
- Comfortable working with Microsoft 365 Office (ex: Word, Power Point)
- Self-starter and team player, ability to manage multiple projects
- Highly organized and detail oriented with Project Management experience a plus
- Strong interpersonal skills and needs to interact within cross functional teams
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
