Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Cook to join our Dietary Services team in a skilled nursing facility. This role is essential in providing high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals that meet the individualized medical and dietary needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with physician-ordered diets, including therapeutic and texture-modified diets.
• Follow standardized recipes and menus to ensure meals meet nutritional requirements and quality standards.
• Ensure all food is prepared, handled, and served in compliance with federal (CMS) and California Title 22 regulations.
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation practices, including proper cooking temperatures, storage, and prevention of cross-contamination.
• Review resident diet cards and meal tickets to ensure accuracy and compliance with prescribed dietary restrictions.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, plating, and service to ensure meals are attractive and palatable.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
• Collaborate with dietary team members, including dietitians and supervisors, to support resident-centered care.
• Follow established meal schedules and ensure timely meal service.

Qualifications
• Previous cooking experience in healthcare, long-term care, or high-volume food service preferred.
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets and modified food textures is highly desirable.
• Understanding of food safety standards (FDA Food Code, HACCP principles) and sanitation practices.
• Ability to read and follow standardized recipes and diet orders accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire) required.
