Description/ Job Summary:
The QA Specialist reports to the QA Director and will work on a wide scope of projects. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload. Qualified candidates for this position must be flexible, illustrate initiative and responsibility, be reliable and friendly, as well as have experience working with other departments within the company. A high-quality productivity level within a fast-paced environment is necessary. The ideal candidate focuses on completing work effectively, efficiently, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Final Inspections of parts shipping to customers
- Inspections for first articles, in process inspections, receiving inspections, and associated reporting
- Review Certificates of Conformance for accuracy and verify documentation is in compliance to customer order requirements before releasing product for shipment
- Collect, track, and file paperwork for projects, providing status updates as needed
- Communicate effectively with other departments and in a timely manner
- Maintain general appearance of work area
- Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to document control, maintain calibration database, and assisting in Internal Process Audits
- Program/Operate VMM and/or CMM equipment
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience, from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities is necessary
- Must be able to obtain security clearance as it applies to ITAR and EAR regulations
- Understanding of engineering prints and tolerances, including GD&T
- Basic math comprehension
- Knowledge of inspection equipment to be utilized: CMM, VMM, thread gauges, Mitutoyo digital height scale, calipers, pin gages, profilometer, etc.
- Ability to use Word, Excel, and adapt to various other computer software
- Attention to detail and organized
- Flexible and adaptive
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred (experience with inspecting machined aluminum parts a plus) but will train the right person
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment
