MACHINE LEAD OPERATOR - 3rd SHIFT in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Progressive Surface, Inc

The Machine Lead Operator is responsible for operating the grit blast, thermal spray machines, and automated inspection and material handling for processing components in Progressive Surface’s Process Services Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the Shift Supervisor.
• Support and engage in process Improvements.
• Perform machine setup and fixturing change overs
• Proven experience trouble shooting machines.
• Experience making adjusting to manufacturing equipment to make parts.
• Operates all machines to process parts.
• Simple inspections.
• Train people on equipment and processes.
• Equipment preventative maintenance and repair.
• Fills in for Shift Supervisor.
• Support Material Handling.
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must have GED or equivalent
• Must have two years of leadership experience
• Computer literate
• Materials knowledge and uses
• Manufacturing procedure background. CNC experience preferred
• Print reading skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
• Valid state driver’s license and good driving record
• Ability to obtain HiLo Certification
