Job Summary
The Welder Fabricator is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal components and assemblies using welding, press brake, and laser cutting equipment. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, operate fabrication machinery, and produce high-quality parts that meet safety, quality, and production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, work orders, and bend charts
· Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components and assemblies to specification
· Perform MIG and/or TIG welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum
· Set up, operate, and adjust welding and fabrication equipment to ensure quality and efficiency
· Operate fabrication equipment, including press brake, laser cutting machines, and general shop tools (grinders, drills, saws, etc.)
· Assist with basic programming, setup, and troubleshooting of fabrication equipment as needed
· Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, cleaning, and fitting components prior to fabrication
· Inspect welds, formed parts, and finished assemblies to ensure quality standards are met
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards
· Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality goals
· Perform additional duties as assigned
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Experience with custom fabrication, low-volume production, or prototype work preferred
· Proficiency in MIG welding; TIG welding experience a plus
· Experience operating press brakes and laser cutting equipment preferred
· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and bend charts
· Strong measuring, layout, and inspection skills with attention to detail
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· AWS certification preferred but not required
· Willingness to work overtime as needed
Qualifications and Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED required
· Experience with custom fabrication, low-volume production, or prototype work preferred
