Employment Support Worker – Employment (Full Time – 12 Months)
The Role and OpportunityThe Canadian Mental Health Association is looking for an Employment Support Worker for the Employment Support Program. The Employment Support Worker is responsible to the Manager for the operation of CMHA Toronto Employment Services. This is done in keeping with the mission, strategic directions and client-centered focus of the Canadian Mental Health Association. The Employment Support Worker is responsible for assisting clients move through the employment process and to use the guidelines set out by the Individual Placement Supports (IPS) model of service. Salary:$54,943 – $60,203+ 4% vacation Hours of Work:35 per week About CMHA TorontoCMHA Toronto is the city’s leading community mental health agency. RESPONSIBILITIESManage a caseload of individuals with mental health issues seeking competitive employment ina number ofemployment sectors. Support andassistparticipants with developing and implementing an individualized employment action planProvide employment, training,volunteerand community resources to clients. Provide Job Development services;identifyand recruit potential employers, provide assertive outreach to the community, develop strategies to increase employment opportunities andestablishand maintain positive employer relationshipsAssistclients with reporting income and communicating with ODSP and Ontario Works Meet targets as set out by fundersWork in collaboration with community supports, family members and service providers Maintain employer/participant documentation and statistical dataExperience & Education RequiredUniversity and/or college degree in social services, rehabilitation, psychology,OTor another related field.

Minimum 1-year experience working in a vocational/employment initiative Previousexperience with employer outreach and job developmentUnderstanding and experience working withpersonswith mental health issues.Understanding of Supported Employment and IPS model.
