Job Description
A Strategic Growth opportunity-SMART Safety Group is seeking a Director of Finance & Administration with Strategic Fiscal Leadership | Operational Excellence.
The Mission: SMART Safety Group is looking for a Finance-First leader to serve as the chief architect of our fiscal health and operational infrastructure. We aren't just looking for an administrator; we need a numbers-driven strategist who thrives on General Ledger precision, sophisticated budgeting, and data-backed decision-making.
While you will oversee HR compliance and general administration, your primary lens is financial. You are the person who sees the story behind the spreadsheets and uses those insights to drive sustainable, long-term growth.
Your Primary Impact:
- Fiscal Architecture: Own the numbers. You’ll direct all financial operations, from General Ledger oversight and rigorous month-end closes to crafting the annual budget that fuels our expansion.
- Strategic Risk Management: Manage the "big picture" of the business—contracts, corporate policies, and insurance renewals—ensuring we are legally insulated and operationally lean.
- Process Engineering: We don’t just want things managed; we want them optimized. You will lead technology implementations and streamline inter-departmental workflows to enhance efficiency.
- Compliance and Administrative Oversight: Provide high-level guidance on California wage/hour laws and safety regulations, ensuring our HR operations are as disciplined as our finances.
- High-Stakes Projects: From major corporate conferences to multi-state vendor optimizations, you are the point person for the initiatives that move the needle.
- Manage employees in Finance and Administration.
Why Lead at SMART Safety?
- This isn't a "maintenance" role. You will work side-by-side with executive leadership to shape the future of the company. If you are a finance-forward leader who enjoys the challenge of building world-class administrative systems, we want to talk.
- Job Type: Full-time
Benefits:
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Tuition reimbursement
- Vision insurance
The Candidate We’re Seeking:
We are looking for a professional who leans into the "hard" side of business operations. You likely have an accounting background and have spent years managing the fiscal pulse of a growing organization.
- Financial Mastery: 5+ years of senior leadership with deep expertise in full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and complex budget development.
- Operational Depth: Proven experience at the Director level managing the intersection of Finance and Operations, ideally in a multi-state environment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Well-versed in the complexities of California employment law (CFRA, FMLA, PDL) and Cal/OSHA, viewed through the lens of risk mitigation and compliance.
- Tech-Savvy: You don't just use software; you leverage it to solve problems and automate manual processes.
