Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach will direct all aspects of the Men's and Women's Tennis programs including, but not limited to, recruiting, scheduling, practice and game management, budget management, fundraising, compliance with NAIA, Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference and University rules, and promoting the academic and athletic development of student athletes.

Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the Tennis teams, including coaching staff, student-athletes, and support personnel.
• Set clear expectations, roles, and responsibilities for coaching staff and student-athletes.
• Develop and teach tennis techniques, strategies, and tactics to the team.
• Plan and implement effective training regimens and practice sessions.
• Coach and mentor student-athletes, focusing on improving their technique, form, and mental preparation.
• Provide individual and group instruction to enhance performance.
• Plan and organize practice sessions, drills, and skill development exercises.
• Focus on player conditioning, skill development, and teamwork during practices.
• Recruit and evaluate prospective student-athletes for the tennis programs.
• Monitor academic progress and personal development of players.
• Promote academic success among student-athletes, ensuring they meet eligibility requirements.
• Collaborate with academic support services to provide resources and support.
• Ensure compliance with NAIA or relevant sports organization rules and regulations.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary compliance reports.
• Lead the team during tennis matches and tournaments, making strategic decisions and providing guidance.
• Manage player rotations, match coaching, and logistics.
• Foster a positive and disciplined team culture based on integrity, sportsmanship, and respect.
• Enforce team rules and discipline when necessary.
• Engage with alumni and maintain relationships with program supporters.
• Participate in recruiting events and activities to attract top tennis talent.
• Manage the tennis program's budgets, including travel, equipment, and other expenses.
• Ensure responsible financial management and compliance with budgetary constraints.

Qualifications:
• Collegiate tennis playing and/or coaching experience.
• Bachelor’s degree, required. Master degree, preferred. NAIA and/or private, value-based University experience preferred.
• Irregular work hours such as weekends, holidays, and evenings are to be expected.
• Multilingual skills highly preferred.
