Performance Improvement Manager

The Performance Improvement (PI) Manager is a full-time exempt position that reports to the Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness and is responsible for development, implementation, and oversight of TerraPower performance improvement programs, which includes the Corrective Action Program (CAP), Self-Assessments, Benchmarking, Operating Experience, Performance Analysis and Trending, Root Cause Analysis, key performance indicators and any other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Organizational Effectiveness. Continuously improve performance improvement program execution and lead the company in becoming a self-identifying and self-correcting organization. Ensure effective identification, screening, analysis, resolution, implementation and measurement of performance issues. Prepare performance data and adverse trends using observations, CAP, self-assessment, benchmarking, operating experience, observations, and performance indicator data.

Responsibilities

  • Program and process owner for PI and CAP.
  • Oversight development, maintenance, and implementation PI and CAP standard operating documents (SOD).
  • Oversight development and implementation of the observation program.
  • Represent TerraPower on various PI and CAP industry working groups.
  • Oversight development and deployment of PI and CAP programs to support construction of Natrium plants.
  • Work with cross-functional management members to identify performance gaps and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Oversight development and use of key performance indicators and report out to management.
  • Oversight root cause investigations and effectiveness reviews.
  • Oversight assessments performed on all functional areas.
  • Oversight implementation of the operating experience program and industry reporting.
  • Oversight implementation of the benchmarking program.
  • Oversight development and implementation of PI and CAP training.
  • Lead Corrective Action Review Committee meetings.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • BS, BA in applicable field (e.g., math, science, engineering, or business administration) with 12 years experience in a commercial nuclear work environment. AA degree with 15 years experience in an Engineering work environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years experience working under NQA-1 or similar requirement
  • Previously licensed SRO preferred.
  • Experience working with nuclear corrective action programs.
  • Experience working with nuclear performance improvement programs.
  • Experience working in a project environment is a plus.
  • Experience working with government organizations such as Department of Energy and/or the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is a plus.
  • Prior managerial experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and training skills and a desire to achieve results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with Confluence, Jira, PowerBI, and Devonway.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving skills.

Salary Range Level 12: $168,316 - $252,475

* We typically place offers in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow room for growth. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individuals qualifications experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
