Job Summary:
The primary role of the Maintenance Planner is to improve work force productivity, work quality and scheduling of preventive, proactive, and autonomous maintenance through proper planning, coordination of parts, machine time and mechanic allocation. The Maintenance Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all maintenance work performed in their assigned site. They will also analyze CMMS Data & create reports that will allow the Maintenance Teams to focus attention & resources so that we can achieve better maintainability, reliability and availability of equipment within the Maintenance Department. Main areas of focus will be on creating, assigning & updating maintenance PM’s, asset management & work order data analysis as well as helping to drive improvements & efficiencies within the Department.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Manage data within Computerized Maintenance Management System – M+ Lightning / IFS
- Support the implementation of TPM strategies (Operator capability) to achieve zero breakdowns, defects, and incidents.
- Support data tracking and analyze data to improve AMs/PMs
- Create weekly / monthly reports on KPIs, top drivers for downtime, and other metrics to share within the department as well as for communication to other departments.
- Maintain accurate records of other maintenance activities such as training logs, costs, and SOPs.Reviews and screens each Maintenance work request in order to assign priority
- Work closely with the Maintenance MRO/Parts Inventory resource to ensure that necessary parts are on-hand before a Work Order/PM is assigned and to assist with adjusting inventory levels and needs
- Coordinates requisition of all predetermined parts, materials and special tools and ensures that equipment to be worked on will be available and ready. Arranges for any safety inspection, fire and standby watch
- Plans and schedules preventative maintenance work in coordination with production/Maintenance Supervisors. Assign work orders to Mechanics through the CMMS’ Planner
- Reviews the estimate of the current day’s schedules status and forecast of manpower availability on a daily basis and coordinates plans with the Maintenance Supervisor
- Follows up to ensure the completed schedules and work orders are returned at the proper time. Carefully reviews completed schedules and corresponding work orders submitted by the maintenance area supervisors and monitors work order progress
- Assist with developing and improving the PM process by creating new inspections to ensure all assets have an associated PM schedule. PM Effectiveness is measured and reviewed weekly for improvements
- Analysis of repetitive equipment failures thru CMMS Data (Work Orders) and observations. Interpret Data and provide meaningful analysis of information
- Manage movement of assets and update CMMS accordingly. Audit equipment asset ID’s and update the information in ManagerPlus to ensure accurate data. Take pictures & document other required information on equipment and enter into M+ System and ensure accuracy
- Attends meetings with the production planning department and participates in the overall plant scheduling of the following week’s work, and negotiates for downtime “windows” during which preventative and corrective maintenance requiring downtime can be performed. Finalizes own schedules for which he/she is responsible, ensuring that the work scheduled balances with the man hours available so that a full day’s work is provided each person

- Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Advanced MS Office proficiency, specifically with Excel. Strong database navigation skills
- Ability to edit and create PDF documents
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills required
- Superior communication skills, including written and oral
- Analytical and process driven thinker and problem solver
- Adaptable to fast paced environments with changing circumstances, direction and strategy and the desire to thrive in a dynamically growing environment
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 5+ years of relevant experience as PM coordinator, Maintenance planner, or similar role.
- 5+ years of CMMS experience.
Working Conditions / PPE:
- Warehouse environment with temperature range of 55 – 80 degrees
- Desk is located inside the cw Maintenance Shop
- Required to wear PPE at all times – Lab Coat/Work Shirt, Hairnet, Beardnet, Ear Protection, Eye Protection, Steel-Toed Footwear (must be ASTM-F2413-05 compliant or higher)
