Job Summary:
The Director of Donations is responsible for the strategic leadership and performance of the full donated goods lifecycle, including donor acquisition, Attended Donation Centers (ADCs), salvage operations, and outlet store performance. This role drives donor growth, operational efficiency, salvage revenue, and outlet sales through strong leadership, cross-functional alignment, and data-driven execution. The Director ensures the organization maximizes the value of donated goods while advancing sustainability goals and supporting overall retail performance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive donations, salvage, and outlet strategy aligned with organizational goals
- Own performance outcomes across all areas, including donor growth, salvage revenue, diversion rates, and outlet sales
- Establish, monitor, and drive accountability to key performance indicators (KPIs) across all functions
- Provide regular performance updates, insights, and recommendations to executive leadership
- Oversee donor acquisition strategy, including zip code targeting, commercial donations, community partnerships, and year over year donor growth
- Develop and manage a donor segmentation strategy (household, commercial, high-volume, repeat donors) to drive targeted acquisition, retention, and lifetime value
- Lead integration of donor acquisition data with operational planning, ensuring donation growth aligns with processing, transportation, and store capacity
- Identify, evaluate, and implement new donation channels and acquisition models (e.g., events, pop-up drives, partnerships, digital scheduling enhancements) to expand reach
- Create and drive accountability to a donor acquisition scorecard, including conversion rates, repeat donor metrics, and campaign ROI, ensuring measurable and sustained
- Ensure alignment between donor acquisition efforts and operational capacity to support sustainable growth
- Provide oversight of all Attended Donation Centers (ADCs) through the Donation Manager, ensuring execution of donor experience, staffing, safety, and operational standards
- Partner with Logistics to optimize ADC-to-store routing and ensure efficient product flow to stores and outlet
- Oversee salvage operations, including vendor management, pricing, volume optimization, and achievement of diversion goals
- Establish and enforce standards for sorting and material flow across ADCs, stores, and outlet operations
- Oversee Outlet store performance through the Outlet Manager, ensuring consistent product flow, production output, table rotation, and sales growth
- Drive labor efficiency and overall profitability of outlet operations while maintaining safety and customer experience standards
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing managers and teams; establish clear expectations, accountability, and a culture of operational excellence

Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required. Training is over a period up to and including three months.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting to 50 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs., standing, bending, and reaching.
