The Role

We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead our accounting and controllership function and help advance a modern, scalable finance infrastructure at a fast-growing, venture‑backed healthcare technology company. This role owns the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of the company’s financial reporting and serves as a key partner to Finance leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.

Reporting to the EVP, Finance and partnering closely with the Senior Director of FP&A, the Director of Accounting oversees core accounting operations, including month‑end close, US GAAP compliance, audit readiness, and technical accounting. This individual will deliver accurate, defensible financials while modernizing systems and processes through automation and technology to support a growing, complex business.

What You'll Do

Lead accounting operations and close ownership: Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and audit-ready financial reporting while continuously improving processes, controls, and documentation across the accounting function.Ensure GAAP compliance and technical accounting excellence: Establish and maintain accounting policies and procedures in compliance with US GAAP, including oversight of revenue recognition, contract accounting, equity-related accounting, and other complex accounting matters.Own financial reporting & data integrity: Prepare and deliver accurate, GAAP-compliant financial statements and reporting packages for internal leadership, Board materials, investors, auditors, and other external stakeholders. Serve as the final owner of financial data integrity, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and accounting documentation. Lead controls, audit, and risk management: Design and maintain a scalable internal control environment; serve as primary liaison for external auditors, tax advisors, and valuation providers; proactively identify and mitigate accounting and reporting risks.Drive systems, automation, and process improvement: Serve as owner of NetSuite and key upstream finance systems while driving automation, scalable workflows, and process improvements that reduce manual effort, minimize reconciliation risk, and support a growing and increasingly complex business.Crossfunctional partnership & leadership: Collaborate closely with FP&A, Legal, HR, Technology, Product, and Operations teams to support new initiatives, contracts, growth programs, and strategic projects. Provide pragmatic accounting guidance to non-finance stakeholders and help build scalable operational processes as the company grows.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA (active or inactive) strongly preferred, but not required5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including ownership of month-end close and GAAP-compliant financial reportingDeep knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting concepts, including revenue recognition and equity-related accountingHands-on experience with NetSuite or comparable enterprise ERP systemsProven ability to build, improve, and scale accounting processes and controls in high-growth or complex environmentsDemonstrated success driving automation, process improvements, and system enhancementsExperience in healthcare, SaaS, or technology-enabled businesses strongly preferred Exposure to, or strong interest in, emerging AI-enabled / AI-native finance tools and workflows High integrity, strong attention to detail, and ownership mindsetAutomation-first mindset with a bias toward building scalable, repeatable processesComfortable operating in ambiguity and helping bring structure as the company growsCollaborative partner able to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-finance stakeholders
