Job Description

We're Sharp Performance

Sharp Performance is transforming mental wellness for those in high-demand professions, starting with public safety.

Our mission is to extend the service-life and health span of those who run toward danger: law enforcement, firefighters, and other frontline professionals. Through our mobile platform, we connect them with elite performance coaches trained in cognitive performance methods adapted from the U.S. Special Operations community.

This is not a lifestyle brand. This is not "tech for tech's sake." This is applied resilience, delivered where it matters most.

We're backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and investors behind Uber, Airbnb, PayPal, and Palantir. Partnerships are forming weekly. The mission is expanding quickly.

We are early. We are building. And success is not guaranteed.

If that excites you more than it scares you, then let's go.

About the Role

We’re hiring our Lead Product Analyst. This is the first data hire at Sharp and the person who will build our product analytics function from the ground up.

You will own product instrumentation, the core analytics platform, and the metrics framework that defines what success looks like for the Sharp app. You will partner closely with Product and Engineering, not as a downstream reporter, but as a strategic voice in the room before features are scoped, shaping what we build and how we measure it. Reporting to our Head of Operations, you’ll bring serious technical horsepower, sharp product intuition, and a fluency with AI tools that lets you move faster and lighter than a traditional analyst would. You’ll be a single-threaded DRI on data today, with the path to grow into Analytics Lead tomorrow.

This is not a role for someone who waits for tickets. It’s for someone who sees the question clearly and chases it down. Someone curious, rigorous, and unafraid to sit at the table with engineers, PMs, and founders alike.

If we succeed, it will be because the team trusts the data, the data tells the truth, and the truth shapes what we build next. This role sits at the center of that effort.

What You’ll Own

  • Product Instrumentation, End-to-End: Own the event tracking layer for the Sharp app. Lead the app analytics migration, define the taxonomy, and validate accuracy before features ship.
  • Foundational Analytics Infrastructure: Build the core data models, dashboards, and self-serve reporting that power product decisions at Sharp.
  • Metrics Framework & Feature-Level Analysis: Define the north star metrics, health indicators, and leading signals for each feature area. Measure adoption, engagement, and retention for every launch, and surface the behavioral patterns that inform what we build next.
  • Analytics Voice in Planning: Show up early to product conversations and pressure-test assumptions. Translate fuzzy questions into measurable hypotheses so analytics shapes what we build, not just what we report on after the fact.
  • AI-Augmented Practice: Integrate AI tools into every stage of your workflow, from instrumentation QA to data exploration to stakeholder reporting. This is not occasional use; it’s fluency, and you will set a visible example for what AI-augmented analytics looks like at Sharp.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with customer success, ops, and leadership on the questions that matter, and build self-serve tools so stakeholders aren’t blocked on you for every answer.

Who Thrives Here

Sharp and this role is not for everyone. You will likely thrive if you:

  • Have 5+ years of analytics experience, with meaningful time in product analytics; consumer (D2C) and mobile app experience strongly preferred
  • Are fluent in SQL and confident designing event taxonomies and instrumentation plans from scratch (PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar)
  • Can translate ambiguous product questions into clear metrics, hypotheses, and analyses, and explain your thinking to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Integrate AI tools into your daily analytics workflow as a natural habit, not a novelty
  • Have startup experience and are comfortable owning a broad scope, working across functions, and making decisions with incomplete information
  • Are highly collaborative and self-directed: you partner well with PM, engineering, and leadership without needing to be closely managed
  • Bring conviction to your findings; you push back when the data disagrees with the room, and you do it with humility and rigor
  • Are based in LA and able to work in-person from our Culver City office (hybrid)
  • Feel genuine respect for military, law enforcement, firefighters, and others who operate under pressure

Why Join Sharp

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Flexible PTO
  • 401(k) with company match
  • The chance to help build something that matters
  • Early equity in a company backed by a16z
  • Access to Sharp's performance coaching platform
