Area Safety Manager- Heavy Civil Construction in Draper, Utah at Sterling Construction Company, Inc.

What You’ll Do

• • Support and help lead safety efforts across multiple heavy civil projects
  • Conduct site visits, audits, safety observations, and inspections
  • Partner with project teams to identify and mitigate jobsite risks
  • Coach field employees and leadership on safe work practices
  • Assist with incident investigations and corrective action plans
  • Help ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards
  • Deliver and support safety training initiatives
  • Build strong relationships with crews, superintendents, and operations teams
  • Promote and reinforce a proactive, team-oriented safety culture

What We’re Looking For

• • Experience in heavy civil construction safety
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to active jobsites
  • Strong field presence and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with operations and field leadership
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed

Preferred Qualifications

• • OSHA 500/510 certifications
  • CHST, CSP, or other safety certifications
  • Experience supporting roadway, excavation, utility, concrete, or infrastructure projects
