Position Description: The Media Director leads strategy, client partnerships, and team development across our client portfolio.
This is a senior leadership role with real ownership. You'll shape media strategies that drive measurable business outcomes, grow client relationships, and build the capabilities of the planning team, all while keeping a pulse on culture, data, and what's next in media. We need a leader who can set direction while staying connected to the work.

Position Responsibilities:

Lead strategy & planning:

  • Develop omni-channel media strategies that align with client objectives and drive measurable results
  • Leverage third-party research and data to optimize plans and shape strategic conversations
  • Stay ahead of market trends, media developments, and cultural moments that impact client business
  • Lead partner negotiations and guide the team to deliver flawless execution of media plans
Own client relationships:
  • Serve as senior client lead, build lasting partnerships and ensure we're exceeding expectations
  • Develop deep knowledge of each client's business to inform all strategic work
  • Negotiate and execute custom content programs and media partnerships
Build & lead the team:
  • Manage and mentor a team of 3+ colleagues, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment
  • Maintain control over workflows and processes to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Evaluate performance clearly and constructively, develop talent, not just manage it
  • Encourage smart risk-taking, innovation, and creative problem-solving
Drive agency growth:
  • Lead new business pitch presentations and contribute to thought leadership
  • Build strong relationships with media partners that elevate the agency's profile and capabilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: What You Bring -
  • Omni-channel expertise across digital, social, programmatic, and traditional media
  • Proven client leadership as you've grown relationships and driven business results
  • Team management experience (3+ direct reports) with a track record of developing talent
  • Strong analytical skills and deep knowledge of media fundamentals and performance metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, written, verbal, presentation, and negotiation
Qualifications -
  • 7+ years of media planning experience, preferably in an agency environment
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Comfortable in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Additional Information: Reports To: VP or SVP, Media
