Location: Roseville, MI (10% Local Travel Required).
Job/Employment Type: Full Time.
Project Scope: Complex Commercial, QSR, and Industrial.
The Opportunity You will serve as a strategic leader within our Sales & Client Relations division, taking full ownership of the pre-construction process for large-scale commercial projects. This is a rare opportunity to act as a steward for new technologies, including AI integration, while building and mentoring your own estimating team. You will have a direct seat at the table with leadership, influencing bid strategies and helping "make the sale" for a company that values innovation and professional growth.
How You Will Make an Impact
Lead the preparation of comprehensive conceptual estimates and bid packages for complex commercial and industrial developments.
Champion the implementation of AI and modern bidding platforms to streamline department functions and increase accuracy.
Collaborate with executive leadership to select high-value projects and define winning bid strategies.
Conduct value engineering and cost-benefit analyses to provide clients with optimal project solutions and competitive pricing.
Facilitate subcontractor pre-award meetings to ensure trade alignment with project scopes and quality standards.
Represent the company in high-stakes presentations to corporate clients and internal leadership.
Build and maintain a robust network of subcontractors and suppliers to enhance our competitive edge in diverse geographic markets.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator, with a focus on commercial or industrial sectors.
Thorough understanding of remodeling and new construction, including demolition, earthwork, and underground utilities.
Proven track record of managing in-depth construction RFPs, and complex estimating strategies.
Strong decision-making skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority bids simultaneously.
Excellent communication proficiency for negotiating contracts and assisting in business development efforts.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Technical proficiency with Building Connected and Bluebeam software.
Experience in process development or a willingness to build more efficient departmental workflows.
Previous experience leading or mentoring a team of estimators.
