EveryAge PACE is seeking a Lead Driver who is passionate about serving older adults and thrives in a role that blends hands-on transportation, route coordination, and team communication. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our participants arrive safely, comfortably, and on time to medical appointments, the PACE Center, and community activities.

Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator, the Lead Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of PACE participants, as well as the scheduling and coordination of daily driver routes. This role acts as a communication hub between drivers, the transportation team, and the interdisciplinary care team—ensuring smooth operations and a positive participant experience.
Transportation & Safety
- Safely transport participants to and from medical appointments, PACE Center activities, and outings
- Assist participants during boarding and exiting vehicles with dignity and care
- Conduct and document daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain assigned vehicle in clean, safe, and working condition
- Report safety concerns, incidents, or vehicle issues promptly
- Coordinate daily driver routes and schedules to meet participant care needs
- Adjust routes in real time to accommodate changes, emergencies, or unexpected delays
- Schedule and coordinate delivery of meals, durable medical equipment (DME), pharmacy items, and supplies
- Serve as a key point of communication with dispatch and the Transportation Coordinator
- Maintain consistent two-way communication with drivers, Transportation Coordinator, and interdisciplinary team members
- Provide guidance and support to drivers to ensure service excellence
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills when interacting with participants, caregivers, and coworkers
- Promote teamwork, reliability, and a positive service culture
- Maintain accurate transportation records and logs
- Uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards at all times
- Follow all OSHA, safety, and EveryAge PACE policies and procedures
- Participate in on-call transportation support as assigned
- Support quality improvement initiatives and ongoing training
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
- Minimum age of 23 (to meet insurance requirements)
- At least 1 year of experience working with frail or elderly populations
