About Us:

The Metropolitan Water District of Salt Lake & Sandy (Metro Water) was established in 1935 by the Salt Lake City Commission. Metro Water’s primary function is to provide reliable, clean drinking water by responsibly managing our resources and proactively planning for the future for our member cities, Salt Lake City and Sandy City.

The Position:

Metro Water is seeking a full-time Inspector/Locator to help in supporting our mission of providing reliable, clean drinking water while ensuring the integrity of Metro Water easement and rights-of-way. As an Inspector/Locator, you will:

• Work in the Field: Spend your days traveling across Salt Lake, Utah, and Wasatch counties, conducting inspections and ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Enjoy Autonomy: You’ll have the freedom to manage your own schedule and be trusted to make decisions on the go, with minimal supervision.
• Engage with the Community: Interact directly with the public and contractors to ensure projects are on track and as described.
• Team Environment: Work with others to build positive relationships, collaborate effectively, and clearly share information.

What We’re Looking For:

• A self-starter who enjoys working independently and has great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, especially when working with contractors and the public.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple inspections on the go.
• A valid driver’s license and a passion for driving and exploring.

In this full-time position, you will participate in on-call duties. Starting pay is $26.25 - $30.50/hour depending on experience.
