We're Hiring Maintenance Room Technician!

Location: 6450 Elwood Rd. Sanger, CA
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
Position Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Western Camps, Inc. is seeking a skilled Maintenance Room Technician responsible for maintaining guest rooms and meeting spaces in safe, clean, and fully operational condition. This role performs repairs and preventive maintenance across multiple trades including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general facilities maintenance in a resort and camp environment
Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Room & Facility MaintenanceResponsible for maintaining the following (including but not limited to):
- Carpets: Ensure carpets are clean, intact, and free of tears
- Molding & Closets: Maintain molding and shelving so they are secure, flush, and in good condition
- Electrical Systems: Maintain switches, outlets, lighting, fixtures, and lamps in safe working order
- Drywall & Paint: Perform regular touch-ups and repairs between guest stays
- Heating & A/C Units: Ensure proper operation and complete routine cleaning/maintenance in coordination with custodial staff
- Furniture: Repair, sand, stain, and maintain furniture; recommend replacement when necessary
- Bathrooms: Maintain plumbing fixtures including faucets, shower components, towel racks, and related hardware
- Beds & Fixtures: Maintain headboards, bed frames, rails, and safety rails; refinish as needed
- Windows & Screens: Inspect and repair windows and screens to ensure proper function and safety
- Report major repair needs or safety concerns to supervisor promptly
- Operate tools, equipment, and company vehicles safely and responsibly
- Maintain tools and equipment in clean, working condition
- Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance on equipment
- Return tools and equipment to proper storage daily
- Assist other departments as needed to support operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to prevent equipment or facility failures
- Support upkeep of building interiors, exteriors, and HVAC systems
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in general maintenance, construction, or related field
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting
- Working knowledge of tools, equipment, and maintenance processes
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Must be able to work weekends and holidays
Preferred:
- Certificate in HVAC, maintenance technology, or related field
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or facilities maintenance
- Experience with finish carpentry or handyman wor
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of tools
- Indoor and outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Exposure to maintenance equipment and cleaning chemicals
- Ability to safely perform all essential job functions
- Full-time; schedule created based on business needs
- Must be available for weekends, holidays, and peak seasons
