About This Position

Description:

The E-Coat 3 Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations within the E-Coat 3 production area to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality processing of customer products. This position supervises team members, coordinates workflow, supports production scheduling, monitors quality and throughput, and ensures compliance with company policies, safety standards, and customer requirements.

The E-Coat 3 Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining production performance, minimizing downtime, supporting continuous improvement, and promoting a positive team environment aligned with Ecoat.us values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the E-Coat 3 line/area, including staffing, workflow, productivity, and quality.
  • Lead, direct, and support production employees assigned to the department.
  • Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and operating standards.
  • Coordinate production activities to meet schedule commitments, customer due dates, and throughput goals.
  • Monitor line performance, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective action to reduce delays and downtime.
  • Verify proper part loading, racking, coating, curing, unloading, and handling practices are followed.
  • Work closely with Quality, Lab, Maintenance, Shipping, and other departments to resolve issues affecting production.
  • Ensure operators follow work instructions, process parameters, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with training new employees and cross-training current employees on departmental tasks and expectations.
  • Monitor employee attendance, performance, conduct, and engagement; provide coaching and corrective action as needed.
  • Support quality requirements by ensuring inspections, process checks, and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
  • Communicate production priorities, safety concerns, staffing needs, and operational issues to management.
  • Participate in root cause problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, delivery, scrap, and efficiency.
  • Help coordinate maintenance needs and promptly report equipment, process, or facility issues.
  • Maintain organized, clean, and audit-ready work areas consistent with 5S and housekeeping expectations.
  • Complete production reports, shift summaries, timekeeping review, and other required documentation.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism throughout the department.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises production personnel assigned to the E-Coat 3 area.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities may include:

    • rewarding and disciplining employees
    • addressing complaints
    • resolving problems
    • supporting staffing and scheduling decisions
Requirements: Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing, production, finishing, coating, or industrial operations experience required.
  • 1+ years of leadership, lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of production flow, safety practices, quality expectations, and employee accountability.
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read work instructions, production schedules, and basic process documentation.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, production tracking systems, and data entry.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in e-coat, powder coat, paint, surface preparation, metal finishing, or industrial coating operations.
  • Experience working with production KPIs such as throughput, downtime, scrap, rework, and on-time delivery.
  • Forklift, crane, or other equipment experience, if applicable to the department.
  • Bilingual communication skills are a plus, depending on facility needs.

  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or 5S principles preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift as needed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without accommodation.
  • Ability to work in a plant environment with exposure to heat, noise, moving equipment, and industrial chemicals, while wearing required PPE.
