About This Position

Sun City Lincoln Hills is seeking a Maintenance Technician with a primary focus on painting to support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our community facilities. This role is responsible for preparing and finishing surfaces, applying coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, performing touchups, and ensuring all painted areas meet quality standards. In addition to painting, the technician assists with general facility maintenance including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, preventative maintenance, aquatic facility upkeep, event support, and minor custodial tasks. The position requires the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, often under changing conditions, while maintaining professionalism, safety awareness, and strong problem solving skills. This is a physically demanding role that involves lifting, climbing, working at heights, and operating a variety of tools and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English
• Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or trade school preferred
• OSHA 10 certification preferred
• Forklift certification preferred
• Valid California driver’s license required
• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) license a plus

Experience & Competencies
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a painter in commercial, industrial, or facility maintenance environments
• Proficient in surface preparation, painting techniques, and application of various coatings
• Familiar with general maintenance practices and facility upkeep
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals related to painting projects
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and complete assignments on schedule

Physical Requirements
• Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work from 2:00 p.m.-10:30 p.m. Sunday - Thursday
• Able to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and labels
• Ability to operate tools and equipment including meters, hand tools, power tools, forklifts, lifts, and vehicles
• Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, push, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work in confined spaces and at heights for extended periods
• Strong mental alertness, detail orientation, and reasoning skills in a safety sensitive environment

Benefits Overview

We offer a comprehensive benefits package including multiple medical plan options through Kaiser (HMO 0 40, HMO 1000 30) and Aetna (HMO AVN 0 100 30, NTL MCP 2000 80), with coverage available for employees, employee + children, employee + spouse, or families. Additional benefits include a Flexible Spending Account, Long-Term Disability, Life Insurance equal to one year’s salary (with voluntary supplemental options), and optional coverage for short-term disability, accident, hospitalization, illness, and legal assistance. Benefits begin on the 1st of the month following 30 days of employment. Paid time off includes vacation accruing at .0385 hours per hour worked (approximately 10 days per year, usable after 90 days), 9 paid holidays plus one floating holiday, and 40 hours of sick leave per year.
