Per Diem Neurosurgery APP

Focus: Long-term growth, program expansion, and revenue,

Situation: Per diem Neurosurgery APP to support increasing case volumes, consults and additional surgeon(s),

In addition, the immediate need is based upon current APP s expected and prolonged absence (PTO),

Background: The lone APP covering neurosurgery will be on a prolonged absence

In addition, our neurosurgical case and consult volume is rising,

To scale, the surgeons require dedicated support to manage perioperative workloads, timely consults, and clinic throughput,

Assessment: Current staffing poses a challenge to timeliness and quality of care,

An APP will ensure 'standard work' via order sets, reducing clinical variability and complications,

The addition a per diem position will allow for weekend APP coverage,

The physician group has added an additional physician in December 2025 creating an increased demand,

With intent to expand scope of covered services for endovascular coverage to support our cardiac surgery program cases will result in increasing demands for coverage and follow up,

Statistically we have observed an increase in both surgeries and consults;

Recommendation: Approve the immediate recruitment of a per diem Neurosurgery APP to stabilize the program and support the expanded endovascular scope,
