The Village of Pinehurst is seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to support the Parks and Recreation Department by assisting with the setup, breakdown, and operations of community events. This part-time position offers no guaranteed hours; scheduling is based on Village of Pinehurst event needs and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working under the general direction of the Special Events Coordinator, the employee performs semi-skilled tasks related to preparing event spaces, managing equipment, and supporting on-site event activities. This role requires the ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in a lead capacity during event setup and takedown. The position involves both indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions. Events supported may include parades, concerts, and other community programs.

• Set-up, break-down, clean, and store tables and chairs, stage and event equipment before and after scheduled events.
• Set-up for event precisely as directed verbally or by written diagram.
• Maintain storage of tables, chairs, and other event materials and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
• Report any damaged or faulty equipment to supervisor.
• On-site event duties may include: securing street barricades, assisting with vendor load-in, trash clean up, crowd management, other duties as assigned.
• Performs other assignments and special projects as required.

• Must be able to lift chairs, tables, and stage weighing up to 75 pounds.
• Must have the stamina and manual dexterity to work consistently for 3-4 hours with or without scheduled break time.
• Effective visual perception is needed for making observations including distinguishing colors, performing visual and physical inspections of event set-up, use of measurement devices.
• Work is performed at various dates, times and locations, based on business need.
• While performing duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, climbing ladders and stairs, bending, kneeling, speaking, hearing and manual dexterity to arrange small details of event set-up.

High School Diploma.

Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
