About This Position

Job Summary
The HR Generalist is responsible for overseeing the recruitment, onboarding, and human resources operations for Tact Tech Security Solutions. This role ensures the company attracts, retains, and develops qualified personnel while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies. The HR Generalist serves as a key strategic and operational partner, supporting both leadership and field staff to foster a productive, engaged, and professional workforce.

The ideal candidate is a self-directed professional who can work independently with minimal supervision, exercising sound judgment in day-to-day responsibilities and escalating only significant concerns through scheduled or periodic meetings with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates.

  • Manage and track hiring requisitions, ensuring alignment with operational needs and approved staffing plans.

  • Oversee job postings across internal and external platforms and ensure postings are accurate, compliant, and up to date.

  • Prepare and distribute company hiring announcements and recruitment-related communications as needed.

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top talent for security and administrative positions.

  • Collaborate with department leaders to forecast staffing needs and maintain adequate coverage.

  • Maintain applicant tracking systems and ensure accurate documentation of recruitment activities.

Onboarding & Employee Development

  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, including orientation, training, and completion of required documentation.

  • Monitor employee performance, support professional development, and implement training programs as needed.

  • Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on personnel matters, performance management, and employee relations.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, certifications, and licensing requirements.

  • Administer HR policies and procedures consistently across the organization.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives, policies, and best practices.

  • Direct disciplinary procedures and provide recommendations to managers regarding company policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the quarterly employee drug testing program, coordinating testing through approved providers (eg, Quest Diagnostics) and ensuring compliance with company policy and legal requirements.

  • Add all new hires to the company employee list and ensure compliance with FDACS and other regulatory requirements.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Act as a point of contact for employee concerns, conflicts, or grievances, and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

  • Prompt a positive, inclusive, and engaged workplace culture.

  • Conduct exit interviews and provide insights for retention strategies.

  • Support managers in implementing disciplinary actions fairly and consistently in accordance with company policies.

  • Coordinate FMLA and ADA matters, ensuring compliance and providing guidance to managers and employees.

Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities

  • Prepare reports on hiring, turnover, training, and other HR metrics.

  • Coordinate with finance and operations teams regarding payroll, benefits, and employee records.

  • Support leadership with HR-related projects, audits, and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources, recruiting, or talent management.

  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and employment regulations.

  • Proven ability to manage recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations processes.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability and communication with leadership.

  • A valid Florida driver’s license.

Preferred

  • Experience in the private security, law enforcement, or related industries.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP).

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or similar HR platforms.

  • Familiarity with security operations, licensing, and regulatory requirements relevant to private security services.

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends as needed for recruitment events or urgent HR matters.

  • Ability to travel to company sites when necessary.

  • Capacity to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to perform performance-related work as assigned, consistent with the physical, cognitive, and operational demands of the role.
