About This Position
Primarily responsible for the coordination of funding for construction loans from closing through ‘roll to perm’ or modification, ensuring compliance with all Bank policies and government regulations while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Preparing and Processing Draws (65%):
- Perform draw activities in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure all appropriate documentation is maintained and updated in each file
- Order title updates, inspections, and endorsements
- Ensure that all draws are properly posted for accounting purposes
- Prepare and e-mail requests at each draw to borrowers, attorneys, settlement agents, appraisers, and any other required parties
Roll to Perm/Modification (20%):
- Coordinate rollover activity with borrowers, builders, loan officers, processors, C&F Mortgage underwriting, and closing for collection of approved documents
- Communicate with borrower and builder regarding certificate of occupancy, final inspection, and other necessary steps in the process
- Calculate the final draw
- Quote payoff, orders change-in-terms document, and images file to Director
- Order any other necessary documents for compliance
- Obtains real estate tax information and homeowners insurance as applicable
Preparation of New Loan Draw and Builder Files (10%):
- Creates draw files/builder files in accordance with established procedures
- Obtains and verifies references, credit reports, and licenses for any new builders
- Prepare approval request for manager review
- Acts as primary contact for builders/borrowers
Special Projects/Other (5%):
- Attends training courses during the year to enhance knowledge base and participate in sharing the information as part of department training.
- Complete assigned training, including required tests, within the indicated timeframes.
- Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned
- Approximately 5% travel to Bank locations and subsidiaries within central and eastern Virginia.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent is required. Some college preferred. TA combination of experience and education will be considered. 1–2 years of banking, lending, branch operations, or office/ administration experience required, such as:
- Teller or Senior Teller OR
- Office / Admin Associate OR
- Loan Operations, Deposit Ops, or Servicing support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills are required to perform successfully in this role. Must be able to effectively utilize technology tools, such as PC and MS Office- with a strong knowledge of Excel and Outlook. Able to communicate effectively with people at all levels is required. Must be effective with time management and be detail oriented. Must be able to work independently with frequent interruptions.
Travel
Must be able to travel to all Bank locations, including subsidiaries.
Physical demands:
Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitors, keyboarding, sitting, motion of fingers/hands/wrists, and standing/walking.
Work Environment:
Work is performed onsite in an operational office environment.
