About This Position
Job Summary: The IT Project Manager will plan, establish, and manage information technology (IT) projects and will serve as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of assigned projects. This includes setting scope, priorities, deadlines and deliverables schedules, facilitating discussions and consensus among project stakeholders, and managing and monitoring project budgets and expenditures.
Principle Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Project Management:
- Manage assigned IT projects through the entire project lifecycle, to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
- Develop, maintain, and revise proposals for assigned projects including requirements gathering, project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
- Set and track project milestones; manage and account for unforeseen delays, then realign schedules and expectations as needed.
- Methodology Implementation Utilize and champion appropriate project methodologies (Scrum, etc) to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality deliverables.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as primary liaison between technical teams, stakeholders, vendors, and senior leadership, translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise business language.
- Establish and implement project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
- Quality Assurance and Documentation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document detailed business and system requirements, functional specifications, and other information as required.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure all documentation is complete, comprehensive and compliant with organizational standards, applicable regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Manages the IT Steering Committee.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally across various teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including training and documentation skills.
- Proficient in Project Management (and related) software and tools, including Microsoft DevOps/Office suite, Jira, Figma, Mural, Airtable, Adobe XD, Confluence, etc.
Work Experience:
- 5-10 years experience in IT project management, or related experience.
Training and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or commensurate combination of education and experience.
- Experience in project management tools and methodologies, including Jira, Agile, Scrum, etc strongly preferred.
- Certification in Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or Project Management Professional (PMP) strongly preferred.
- Attend meetings and complete all required training.
Working Environment and Requirements to Perform Job Responsibilities
- Ability to work full-time (average of 40-hours per week).
- Ability to work in a shared office, private office, and/or cubicle in accordance with job duties and responsibilities.
- Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing work environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to see computer screen, read, and complete forms
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds with the ability to push, pull, bend, reach, and sit.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time/work at a desk.
- Ability to answer the phone in a busy environment – hear callers and be responsive.
- Ability to work in a high intensity/fast paced work environment and be able to multi-task and prioritize.
