Position Summary:

The Deposit Quality Control Specialist I position is responsible for reviewing deposit account documentation, account maintenance activity, and customer records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory and legal requirements. This position supports the bank's quality control efforts by identifying documentation errors, maintaining quality review records, and assisting employees with deposit account questions and corrective actions. This position works collaboratively with the Deposit Quality Control Specialist team and provides cross-functional support to ensure continuity of operations during employee absences, staffing changes, and peak workload periods.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality control reviews of deposit accounts, maintenance activity, and customer records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify documents are properly executed and account documentation is accurate, complete and compliant with bank policies, procedures, and applicable regulations and legal requirements.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of deposit account documentation, account titling, deposit policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Review account titling, ownership structures and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with the review of legal documentation, including trusts, estates, power of attorney, guardianships, and business entity records.
  • Conduct daily audits of new deposit account reports (CIF/CDA/DDA/SDB) and maintenance reports.
  • Identify, document, and communicate errors, trends, inconsistencies, and process gaps.
  • Maintain detailed Deposit Quality Control logs of findings, corrective actions, and recurring issues.
  • Communicate findings and corrective action requirements to appropriate parties.
  • Professionally communicate and provide service to internal staff by investigating and resolving documentation issues and customer inquiries.
  • Support and assist frontline staff with questions regarding deposit account documentation, ownership, procedures and with remediation of documentation and account maintenance issues.
  • Assist with BPM process questions and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in response to audit and examination requests and remediation efforts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly quality control reports, summarizing quality control trends, error rates, and risk exposure as needed.
  • All other duties assigned by supervisor(s).
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years’ experience in banking industry or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
  • General knowledge of deposit account documentation rules and regulations.
  • Ability to make timely decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain flexible, adapting to changes in the work environment.
