Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Real Estate, Economic Development and Capital Projects

advancing economic development and neighborhood revitalization in Downtown Jamaica,
Queens. GJDC advances its mission through real estate development, public-private
partnerships, commercial revitalization, and community investment.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Real Estate & Property Management, the Senior Project Manager
manages assigned real estate development, capital improvement, and economic development
projects and supports property management, leasing, and tenant relations across GJDC’s
portfolio. The position coordinates internal and external project teams, manages multiple
complex initiatives with limited supervision, and provides project execution and analytical
support to the Director.
Essential Responsibilities
• Project Development & Capital Projects: Manage real estate development,
redevelopment, economic development, and capital improvement projects from
planning through completion, including project coordination, budgets, schedules,
procurement, regulatory approvals, consultant and contractor management,
construction oversight, and project closeout.
• Project Coordination & Director Support: Support departmental priorities and complex
real estate initiatives by coordinating project teams and stakeholders, leading meetings,
tracking deliverables and deadlines, conducting research and analysis, and preparing
recommendations and project updates for the Director.
• Public Agency, Funding & Compliance: Coordinate with Federal, State, and City
agencies; identify and support grant and funding opportunities; and ensure compliance
with applicable funding, regulatory, procurement, and reporting requirements.
• Contract & Financial Administration: Manage project contracts, budgets, invoices,
expenditures, and financial analyses, including projects supported by multiple funding
sources.
• Real Estate & Leasing Support: Review real estate and development proposals and
support leasing activities, including broker and prospect coordination, property tours,
proposals, due diligence, and lease execution.
• Tenant & Property Management Support: Work with tenants and property
management staff to address tenant requests, coordinate landlord responsibilities and
tenant improvements, monitor lease obligations, and support positive tenant
relationships.
• Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Real
Estate & Property Management.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, urban planning, public administration, business,
finance, construction management, economics, or a related field; Master’s degree
preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in real estate development,
project management, capital projects, economic development, property management,
construction, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex projects from conception
through completion, including budgets, schedules, contracts, consultants, contractors,
and multiple funding sources.
• Strong knowledge of real estate development and capital project processes, including
design, construction, procurement, regulatory approvals, and project closeout.
• Experience with public agencies, public funding and compliance requirements,
commercial real estate, leasing, tenant relations, and/or mixed-use property
management preferred.
• Strong analytical, financial, organizational, communication, and presentation skills, with
proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage multiple priorities with limited
supervision; knowledge of New York City real estate and governmental processes
preferred.
Compensation: $100,000–$110,000, based on qualifications and experience.
