Established in 1989, today Justus Property Management operates more than 190 affordable apartment communities and 5,000+ units throughout the state of Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Justus prides itself on its team's ability to navigate all of the State affordable housing programs including (but not limited to) HUD, Rural Development, HOME and Section 42.
Job Title: Compliance Coordinator (Hybrid)
Position Summary
The Compliance Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring that property operations remain in full compliance with all relevant affordable housing regulatory requirements. This position focuses on managing the audit life cycle, coordinating with site staff, and maintaining accurate documentation across various programs. The successful candidate will be highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of collaborating effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
• Audit Management: Maintain and update the Compliance File Audit Tracker to ensure all deadlines
are met.
• Site Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for site staff to request,
collect, and verify required documentation for audits.
• Agency Submission: Thoroughly review ?les for accuracy and manage the
upload process for all regulatory agencies requiring audits.
• State Agency Annual Owner Certi?cations: Enter Tax Credit tenant events accurately and assist
with the preparation and submission of Tax Credit annual owners certi?cations (AOC) if needed.
• Additional Duties: Assist with other compliance tasks and projects as assigned by the Compliance
Director.
Requirements:Required Knowledge of the following programs:
Comprehensive knowledge of affordable housing programs, including:
- Tax Credit - HUD
- HOME - CDBG
- NSP - NHTF
- RD - AHP
Qualifications & Skills
• Exceptional Organizational Skills: Ability to track multiple deadlines, and submissions simultaneously.
• Deadline-Driven: Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet strict agency audit schedules.
• Collaborative Mindset: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work constructively with other departments.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in reviewing documentation and managing tenant event data.
• Technical Proficiency: It is recommended that this candidates have experience using RealPage, Microsoft Excel, and is willing to learn SmartSheet.
2 years experience preferred, but not required.
