Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Content Marketing Lead based in Spain.
This is a high-impact, high-autonomy content leadership role shaping the narrative of a global employment and HR technology business.
You’ll define the editorial strategy, thought-leadership agenda, and category story that influence customers, executives, and the wider market.
Rather than managing a traditional content team, you’ll build AI-powered systems that dramatically increase the reach and effectiveness of your work.
You’ll transform proprietary data and complex research into authoritative content that earns attention, shapes industry conversations, and supports business growth.
The role spans editorial, executive communications, original research, newsletters, podcasts, PR, social, and other channels.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, subject-matter experts, agencies, and freelancers while operating as a highly autonomous individual contributor.
It’s an opportunity to define what an AI-native content function can look like and establish scalable standards for quality, governance, and impact.
- Define and own the long-term editorial and category strategy across Marketing, executive leadership, Product, People, Legal, and customer-facing functions.
- Establish clear narrative positions, evidence standards, and language to ensure consistency across business areas and communications.
- Develop and manage a multi-year editorial roadmap centered on a focused portfolio of flagship research and thought-leadership initiatives aligned with company strategy.
- Serve as the final quality bar for editorial voice, accuracy, sourcing, evidence, and overall content quality across both human- and AI-generated work.
- Design and govern reusable AI-powered systems for research, brand voice, fact-checking, source verification, content repurposing, evaluation, quality assurance, and reporting.
- Define appropriate governance frameworks that determine where AI can lead, where human oversight is required, and where specialist or executive approval is necessary.
- Establish content mechanisms and standards that can be adopted across Marketing and other relevant teams, extending the impact of the function beyond the core content workflow.
- Measure the effectiveness and leverage of content systems through metrics such as output, cycle time, cost, adoption, quality, and business impact, continuously improving them over time.
- Lead the operating model for executive publishing, advising senior leaders on the arguments, perspectives, and narratives they should bring to market.
- Build an original research program using proprietary employment, salary, hiring, and workforce data to produce authoritative insights that influence external conversations.
- Coordinate newsletters, podcasts, events, PR, analyst relations, product marketing, customer and partner storytelling, and social content around cohesive narratives.
- Connect editorial and narrative decisions to measurable business outcomes, including growth, customer trust, target-account engagement, earned influence, and pipeline.
- Develop reporting and insights that help leadership make informed decisions about content portfolios, investments, and strategic priorities.
- Identify emerging market trends and shifts early, translating them into recommendations for business and content strategy.
- Mobilize senior stakeholders, freelancers, agencies, specialists, and subject-matter experts without relying on formal reporting authority.
- Establish decision rights, operating rhythms, processes, and shared standards that allow multiple teams to execute consistently.
- Shape the long-term organizational roadmap for the content capability, determining what should remain expert-led, become systematized, or require future hiring.
- 8+ years of experience in content, editorial, brand journalism, or a closely related field, including senior ownership of a brand narrative or thought-leadership program within a B2B technology environment.
- Demonstrated success defining a company or category narrative that influenced decisions, earned external authority, and was adopted across multiple teams.
- A strong portfolio of work that has earned attention organically through citations, industry discussion, quotations, debate, sharing, or other forms of external recognition.
- Demonstrated AI-first experience extending well beyond content drafting, including building agents, custom workflows, evaluation systems, quality assurance processes, and governance frameworks.
- Exceptional English-language editorial judgment, with outstanding writing, editing, sourcing, research, and brand-voice capabilities.
- Ability to translate proprietary data, technical subjects, and complex research into clear, compelling, defensible arguments with strong business relevance.
- Proven ability to make high-leverage strategic decisions and establish direction across executives and multiple functions without formal authority.
- Strong experience creating scalable mechanisms, operating standards, processes, and roadmaps that enable others to deliver consistently.
- High autonomy, strong ownership, and comfort operating as an individual contributor with company-wide scope and no direct reports.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with excellent execution, judgment, and attention to detail.
- Ability to challenge vague, poorly sourced, inconsistent, or off-brand work constructively, including when working with senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across distributed teams.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Reliable home internet connection suitable for fully remote work.
- Experience in HR technology, global employment, fintech, compliance-heavy technology, or the future-of-work space is a plus.
- Experience optimizing content for AI search visibility, including how AI assistants retrieve, summarize, and cite sources, is advantageous.
- Multimedia experience across video, podcasts, design, or other formats is beneficial.
- Experience building an in-house newsroom or original research program is a plus.
- Experience working or living across multiple markets or speaking more than one language is advantageous.
- Fully remote work with the ability to work from anywhere, subject to local work authorization and team requirements.
- Flexible working arrangements designed to support different locations, cultures, and personal needs.
- 40 days of paid time off per year, including holidays and vacation, or more where required by local regulations.
- Mental health support through Plumm.
- Monthly wellbeing allowance through a dedicated benefits wallet.
- At least three months of paid parental leave for all new parents, with job protection for up to 12 months or as required locally.
- Work-from-home stipend to support laptop and home-office equipment.
- Opportunity to work in a globally distributed environment with colleagues across 60+ countries.
- High level of autonomy and flexibility within an asynchronous working culture.
- Opportunity to shape an innovative, AI-native content function at the intersection of technology, global employment, and the future of work.
- Inclusive and globally minded workplace committed to equal opportunity and creating an environment where diverse perspectives can thrive.
