Alliance Workforce Management is hiring Welders / Fabricators to support a growing precision machining operation. This role is ideal for skilled individuals who can perform more than repetitive production welding and are comfortable reading prints, fitting components, fabricating assemblies, measuring their own work, and producing high-quality weldments that meet customer and engineering specifications.
Position OverviewThe Welder / Fabricator is responsible for fitting, fabricating, welding, assembling, and inspecting metal components and assemblies. This role requires strong blueprint-reading skills, welding expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality work that meets dimensional and customer requirements. Candidates should be comfortable taking ownership of projects from fit-up through final completion.
Responsibilities- Perform MIG and Flux-Core welding on steel components and fabricated assemblies.
- Fit and fabricate components from engineering drawings and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, dimensions, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Cut, grind, prepare, fit, tack, and weld materials as required.
- Verify dimensions, alignment, and fit-up before welding.
- Inspect completed weldments and assemblies to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Use saws, grinders, measuring equipment, clamps, fixtures, and other fabrication tools.
- Perform assembly work when required.
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Identify and communicate drawing, fit-up, material, or quality concerns before completing nonconforming work.
- Take ownership of weld quality, fit-up accuracy, and overall workmanship.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Knowledge of MIG welding processes and fabrication techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently after receiving job instructions.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Dependable attendance and commitment to workplace safety.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality work that meets customer specifications.
- Strong MIG welding experience.
- Ability to fit and fabricate directly from a print.
- Working knowledge of weld symbols and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using tape measures, calipers, squares, levels, and other inspection equipment.
- Experience with structural steel and general fabrication work.
- Strong attention to fit-up, weld quality, and dimensional accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot fabrication and fit-up issues independently.
- Experience performing both welding and assembly work.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position.
- Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment.
- Work with welding equipment, fabrication tools, assembly processes, and industrial machinery.
- Exposure to welding fumes, grinding operations, sparks, noise, and metal fabrication activities.
- AS9100-certified manufacturing environment supporting welding, fabrication, CNC machining, assembly, and complex customer requirements.
- Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, move, and position materials, tools, and fabricated assemblies.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, twisting, and other physical movements.
- Ability to safely operate welding and fabrication equipment.
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspections of weld quality, dimensions, and finished products.
- Ability to work safely around metal materials, fabrication equipment, and production machinery.
Full-time positions available. Primarily seeking experienced Welders and Fabricators; however, candidates with a solid welding foundation, strong work ethic, and a desire to continue developing their fabrication skills are encouraged to apply.
