Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving manufacturing operations through process development, continuous improvement, standards development, and production support. This role will analyze manufacturing processes, develop standardized methods and documentation, improve workflow and efficiency, and support the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to improve safety, quality, productivity, and repeatability throughout the manufacturing process. Reports to the Director of Manufacturing.


This is a fully onsite position in Bristol, PA with occasional travel needed to other facilities.


Responsibilities:

    Perform time studies, labor analysis, and process evaluations to establish labor standards and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, and manufacturing performance.Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes, work instructions, assembly standards, and standard operating procedures to ensure safe, consistent, and repeatable production.Develop and maintain labor routings, manufacturing methods, and production standards to support estimating, scheduling, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.Analyze shop floor layouts, material flow, workstations, and production processes to improve workflow, space utilization, organization, ergonomics, and throughput.Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, including waste reduction, 5S, standard work, root cause analysis, visual management, and process optimization.Investigate and resolve manufacturing issues related to quality, safety, tooling, equipment, processes, and product assembly.Analyze manufacturing data, labor performance, production metrics, and operational trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions and process improvements.Design, develop, and support tooling, fixtures, equipment, and automation solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and repeatability.Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and production transfers through the development of manufacturing methods, documentation, tooling requirements, and production processes.Collaborate with Engineering to improve product manufacturability, assembly efficiency, quality, and cost.Identify and implement opportunities to reduce manufacturing costs, improve labor utilization, increase throughput, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.Support workplace safety initiatives by identifying ergonomic, process, and equipment improvements that reduce risk and improve working conditions.Lead or participate in cross-functional projects focused on operational excellence, productivity improvement, capacity expansion, and strategic manufacturing initiatives.Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field required.3–7 years of manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, process improvement, or related experience preferred.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, process improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.Experience with time studies, process mapping, root-cause analysis, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.Ability to analyze data, identify process deficiencies, and develop practical solutions.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, bills of material, assembly documentation, and manufacturing specifications.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.Experience with CAD software, ERP systems, or manufacturing-related software preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, and operations personnel.Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.
