Job Description
Summary The Junior Apparatus Technician is an entry-level technical position responsible for assisting with the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning of electrical power distribution equipment. Working under the direction of experienced Apparatus Technicians, Lead Technicians, and project leadership, this position develops the technical knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to safely perform electrical apparatus testing and maintenance. The Junior Apparatus Technician supports TIG’s Power & Reliability team by assisting with field testing, equipment inspections, preventive maintenance, documentation, and project activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and reliability.. |

Work Environment This position primarily works in industrial facilities, power generation facilities, substations, manufacturing plants, petrochemical facilities, and other customer locations. Work may be performed indoors and outdoors and may involve exposure to electrical hazards, energized equipment, elevated noise levels, moving equipment, chemicals, dust, fumes, heat, cold, and varying weather conditions. The position requires strict adherence to TIG and customer safety requirements and the use of appropriate PPE. Work involving electrical hazards or energized equipment may only be performed within the employee's demonstrated training, qualification, and authorization. Frequent travel and work outside normal business hours may be required, including nights, weekends, holidays, outages, shutdowns, and emergency assignments based on customer and project requirements. |
