This leadership role sits at the core of a fast-scaling global payments organization, responsible for shaping and driving the success of its most strategic merchant relationships. You will lead and grow a high-performing account management function, ensuring key clients receive exceptional service while unlocking long-term revenue expansion. The role combines strategic leadership, commercial ownership, and cross-functional influence across product, tech, and operations teams. You will define account strategies, elevate client engagement standards, and directly impact retention and growth outcomes across major accounts. Operating in a high-growth, international environment, you will play a pivotal role in aligning internal execution with client success. This is a highly visible position for a leader who thrives in fast-paced, performance-driven settings and enjoys building teams from the ground up.
You will lead the strategic direction and execution of the key account management function, ensuring strong client relationships, revenue growth, and operational excellence across major merchant accounts.
- Lead, mentor, and scale the Key Account Management team, setting clear goals and performance expectations
- Own relationships with strategic merchants, ensuring high-quality engagement and long-term partnership value
- Drive revenue growth through expansion opportunities, retention strategies, and market insight-driven planning
- Define and execute account strategies focused on maximizing customer lifetime value and satisfaction
- Act as the escalation point for high-priority client issues, ensuring fast and effective resolution
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Tech, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure seamless delivery
- Use data and analytics to track performance, identify risks, and optimize account outcomes
- Build a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance within the team
- Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying new growth opportunities within key accounts
The ideal candidate is a seasoned account management leader with strong fintech or payments experience, capable of operating in complex, fast-moving environments while leading international teams and strategic client relationships.
- 5+ years of experience in Key Account Management, Client Success, or Relationship Management, ideally in fintech or payments
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing high-performing, client-facing teams
- Strong understanding of payment systems, financial services ecosystems, and related regulations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across technical and executive audiences
- Strong strategic thinking and structured problem-solving capabilities
- Experience working with international clients in high-growth, complex environments
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity and make sound decisions under pressure
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
