Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours Per Week
Hours: Primarily Daytime Hours, Including Weekends as Needed
Reports To: Executive Sous Chef
Location: Bishop’s Orchards Kitchen & Prepared Foods Department
Position Overview
Bishop’s Orchards is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented Kitchen Prep Cook / Prepared Foods Team Member to support our growing culinary operation. This full-time position focuses primarily on daytime kitchen production, breakfast preparation, prepared foods, and general kitchen support.
The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in preparing high-quality food, and works well as part of a collaborative kitchen team. This role is hands-on and involves food preparation, recipe execution, maintaining organized kitchen spaces, and supporting the overall success of the Prepared Foods department.
Prior prep cook, line cook, deli, or kitchen experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and cook breakfast and prepared food items consistently to Bishop’s Orchards standards
- Assist with daily food prep, including slicing, chopping, portioning, cooking, and plating
- Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in quality, taste, and presentation
- Maintain attractive, fresh, and well-stocked Prepared Foods displays
- Ensure all prepared items are properly labeled, dated, covered, rotated, and stored
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout kitchen areas, walk-ins, coolers, and freezers
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, HACCP, OSHA, and company procedures
- Monitor product freshness, quality, and presentation standards
- Assist with recipe development and testing as needed
- Support kitchen operations during busy production periods and seasonal demands
- Communicate effectively with chefs, managers, and fellow team members
- Provide friendly and professional customer service when interacting with guests
Support additional kitchen, store, and culinary projects as assigned by leadership
Requirements:Qualifications
- Previous prep cook, kitchen, deli, restaurant, culinary, or food service experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and procedures accurately
- Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a positive attitude
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable multitasking and managing time effectively during busy shifts
- Flexible availability, including weekends as needed
